Living usually centres around the eastern terrace with the sounds of the ocean and views through the coconut trees to the beach and sea beyond. The full moon over the water can be breathtakingly beautiful and the sunrise in Mission Beach is legendary. Ulysses butterflies, sunbirds, parrots and flocks of native birds flutter by and the Sejala goanna can usually be seen wandering out to the foreshore in the late afternoon.
